Catching up

I guess I'm just really bad at writing a blog, despite feeling like I want to do it. 2018 was all about my job.  I guess to back up a bit, I moved in with one of my best friends, Chiem Ay, back in August of 2017.  Since then I've done pretty much nothing but work.  Still on the dating apps but no luck so far.  Optimistic for 2019.  Oh, I got a finance manager job at Reside after looking for 6 months.  Turns out my 4.0 gpa didn't help diddly squat.  How ironic that after all that searching I ended up back at the place I was originally at. What a boring entry, is this really all I have to write about after all this time?  What can I do to jump start my life?

Graduation & Japan Trip

The graduation part was actually really tame.  I petitioned to graduate late so I'll have to wait until sometime in December to actually receive my degree.  Good thing is that I made it out with a 4.0, so hopefully that helps my job prospects a bit.  The school is all the way in New Hampshire so I won't be attending the actual ceremony.  Congratulations to me! Yay! I took a trip to Japan in October, mainly to visit Kesennuma.  It was a good trip, got to see a lot of people, some former students, met the new ALTs.  Even though it's only been 2 years all the JETs that I knew from my time were gone.  Only Jericho, the Interac ALT, was still around, and he was an hour and a half away.  The new ALTs are a good group, better overall than the group during my time.  Still hard to believe it's been over 2 years since I came back.  Seeing all the fun the ALTs were having made me wish I was still young enough to go back and do it all over again. ...

Almost There

I finally have something to write about that's exciting!  I went down to California to visit Cedrec for his birthday a few weeks ago.  It was fun times.  He keeps semi joking about me moving down there, but it sounds better the more I think about it.  There's not a lot here left for me in Oregon, if I get a good opportunity down there somehow I think I'd take it. I'm graduating in a little over a month.  The more exciting part about that is that I'll be quitting my job at Reside.  I've been working at Reside about a year too long and I'm so ready to quit.  It is nice to know I can come back if need be, but if I do this time, I'll have really messed something up.  This place drives me nuts.  I'm still very appreciative that I was able to work here while going to school though.  Thank you Reside! Ended up not making it to Tara's wedding.  I wanted to go but it was going to cost over a grand.  I do plan to get down there event...

Nothing New

I haven't made a post in a few months because honestly nothing has happened.  I've been focusing on work and school and am glad that I will be done with both come October.  Planning to go to Tara Siczkar's wedding in August and also Japan in October, hopefully with Giovanny. Got to hang out with Chiem on new year's, we went to Bamboo sushi then came back to play some League.  Good times.  Hung out with Andus not that long ago.  He got laid off but has job opportunities in Texas and California.  I'm sure he'll be able to choose which one he ultimately wants. School's getting harder.  Not sure I'm cut out for finance but I'm sticking with it this time.  Money is in my future!

Pilot

I had wanted to make a blog for myself quite a few months ago to just jot down my thoughts, but never got around to doing it.  It took me a while but here it finally is. A lot has happened over the year since I got back from Japan.  I decided to switch my major over from nursing to finance.  We had to put Sophie the cat down in February because she was getting too sick.  I started trying the online dating websites and so far have failed miserably. Sometimes I think I should have stayed another year in Japan.  After figuring out that I was not cut out for nursing and instead went to a finance degree that I started doing at an online school, it seems like an even more logical choice.  If I had known, I probably would have.  I could have saved a lot more money also.  I could have done more traveling, maybe visit Grace? I started going back to work for Reside.  It's fine for now but if I happen to find something better I will be gone as qui...
